Dusssie by Nancy Springer
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 – 8:36 amEver wonder what it would be like to wake up one morning and find out your mom was immortal and written of in Greek mythology? Dussie (short for Medusa, named after her late aunt), a thoroughly modern girl of the 21st century wakes up one morning when she is thirteen to find that a writhing mass of snakes (they prefer to be called “serpents”) have replaced her hair.
Clearly mom has some explaining to do. Dussie learns why her mom always wears turbans and is such a good sculptor. Will Dussie figure out how to rid herself of the serpents, or will she be forced to seek out large hats forever? Enjoy Dussie by Nancy Springer to find out.
