It might be a good idea to bring a CO monitor when you travel to a rental house or cabin that you're not familiar with also. A woman from my highschool and her whole family died a few months ago when they won a stay in a brand new ski house in Aspen. There was a problem with the snow-melting system for the house and, tragically, they all passed away. It was shocking and seemed very preventable which made it all the more sad.
