Business Books: Messiahs or Major Time Sucks?
Saturday, March 21, 2009 – 11:39 am11,000 business books are published in the United States each year. That’s a lot of jabbering to sift through. Stacked on top of each other, 11,000 books would be about as tall as the Paulson Building here in downtown Spokane. And tucked somewhere in that tower is the solution to your current business problem.
How handy it is then to have one single book provide a list of the top 100 business books of all time. Broken down into categories such as Leadership, Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, etc., authors Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten provide a quick synopsis of each title, drawing out what the book has to say, why it matters, and how it can help your business thrive.
Of the 100 titles listed in the book, the Spokane Public Library has 92 of the titles either in stock or on order. Of the remaining 8 elusive titles, we can still get them for you by borrowing them on your behalf from another library system.
So… messiah or headache? I guess it depends on how quickly you can get to the good stuff, no?
