New Lights in Downtown Library Garage
Tuesday, December 9, 2008 – 11:40 amWe have just finished installing new, energy-efficient lighting in the Downtown Library’s parking garage. The lights that had been in the garage were dim and burned out frequently; the bulbs were expensive and they burned a lot of energy. The best part about the new lights is that the city paid for them out of their capital improvement fund so the cost did not come out of the library’s budget. It was a good investment for the city since the energy-efficient lights will save a lot of money in the long run. Mayor Verner has been very supportive of projects that help with long-term sustainability, saving energy and money for our city. We’re very pleased with the new lights; the garage feels much brighter and we’ll look forward to seeing a change in our Avista bills!
