The Swell Season

Actor-musicians Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova won an Oscar for Best Original Song, “Falling Slowly,” in the film, Once. The movie is about two musicians who write songs together and fall in love. National Public Radio interviewed both musicians this month and listen to their interview on NPR . Love followed the film’s storyline for Irglova and Hansard.
In 2006, the same year Once was filmed, the duo released an album under the band name The Swell Season, and they’re currently on tour. The Swell Season tour does not include Spokane, but they did perform in Missoula recently.
Spokane Public Library circulates the High Demand film on DVD and the soundtrack on CD.
